Seventeen Years of Waiting
You think I'm happy?after you said goodbye?
but you're never here,
to watch me as I cry.
Do you think it's easy?
to let you walk away?
after all our efforts,
there's nothing left to say.
You tell me to move on,
as to which I have tried,
but knowing they aren't you,
makes me want to die.
But when a friend wants to go out,
you become rebelious,
stubborn when I explain,
and just oh so jealous.
It's not a date,
not even someone of interest,
I don't like this guy,
no matter how hard you insist.
But you dont understand,
I just can't move on,
forever in my soul,
never to be withdrawn.
I have a locket,
shaped as a heart,
so beautiful and gold,
a work of art.
There's a photo inside,
of the one I truely love,
of my special angel,
who came from above.
It's you baby,
and always will be,
forever in my heart,
true love at seventeen...
