Murderers of Love
Have you ever loved someone, your parents hated,
because of how he is,
and who he has dated?
Your parents don't trust him,
and try to pull apart,
the relationship you have,
from the very start.
They ask where you're going.
and the people there,
if you say his name,
they give a disgusted stare.
Then they don't let you go,
and now can't trust you,
your home becomes a prison,
with nothing to do.
But yet inside,
you know his heart is good,
a great guy,
just simply misunderstood.
And you keep trying,
to think of a way,
to get them to like him,
but not sure what to say.
Since you can't talk,
they will continue to nag,
it'll wear you down,
like a dirty old rag.
You somehow keep holding on,
to him oh so tight,
because you love him,
with all of your might.
We think of our future,
and hope it's sunny and bright,
to be with each other,
every night.
To marry,
and buy a house,
to have kids,
and be the perfect spouse.
Then, just then, life will be perfect,
and also fair,
because now, no one can complain,
of the love we both share.
