Pain in Body and Soul
There's an evil within,
that lurks in your heart,
Waiting to jump out,
And tear me apart.
Seeing things wrong,
When nothing is there,
You tear out my heart,
As well as my hair.
As if waiting to pounce,
For some imagined affair,
When would it happen,
When you're always there?
I've always been faithful,
Not that it's done any good.
My love for you was complete,
But apparently misunderstood.
Enough of the violence,
that I've had to endure,
Even of your son,
You weren't even sure.
The alcohol is talking,
In the back of your brain,
It is evil incarnate,
Coming out again.
The look on your face,
When you come at me viciously,
Hurts me to the core.
Like your taking pride deliciously.
No more beatings
No more pleadings,
Nothing more but court proceedings.
that lurks in your heart,
Waiting to jump out,
And tear me apart.
Seeing things wrong,
When nothing is there,
You tear out my heart,
As well as my hair.
As if waiting to pounce,
For some imagined affair,
When would it happen,
When you're always there?
I've always been faithful,
Not that it's done any good.
My love for you was complete,
But apparently misunderstood.
Enough of the violence,
that I've had to endure,
Even of your son,
You weren't even sure.
The alcohol is talking,
In the back of your brain,
It is evil incarnate,
Coming out again.
The look on your face,
When you come at me viciously,
Hurts me to the core.
Like your taking pride deliciously.
No more beatings
No more pleadings,
Nothing more but court proceedings.
