Disillusion
Where to begin,
My tale of woe,
Too much distance,
I should have known.
Previous ties unbroken,
Lead to lies unspoken.
Too good to be true,
And you know what they say,
The heart still hopes and prays.
No right to question,
Or right to be mad,
It was something,
I never really had.
So, hear me now,
My tarnished knight,
Usually I don't give up,
Without a fight.
But in this instance,
I will gladly bow out,
kicking and screaming,
And wanting to shout!
What a horrible thing,
For you to do,
When all I wanted,
Was to be loved by you.
But your life is taken,
And your heart is cold,
My heart's breaking,
I should've listened,
To what I was told.
Love is blind,
But never did I think,
You would be so unkind.
So skeptical and hard hearted before,
Probably because I already knew the score.
Finding happiness,
Is so easy for some,
Somehow I always,
End up with crumbs.
My tale of woe,
Too much distance,
I should have known.
Previous ties unbroken,
Lead to lies unspoken.
Too good to be true,
And you know what they say,
The heart still hopes and prays.
No right to question,
Or right to be mad,
It was something,
I never really had.
So, hear me now,
My tarnished knight,
Usually I don't give up,
Without a fight.
But in this instance,
I will gladly bow out,
kicking and screaming,
And wanting to shout!
What a horrible thing,
For you to do,
When all I wanted,
Was to be loved by you.
But your life is taken,
And your heart is cold,
My heart's breaking,
I should've listened,
To what I was told.
Love is blind,
But never did I think,
You would be so unkind.
So skeptical and hard hearted before,
Probably because I already knew the score.
Finding happiness,
Is so easy for some,
Somehow I always,
End up with crumbs.
