    More of a mini-story sorry

    Marissa..

Marissa sat on the old window bench swinging her feet. She stared out of the dirty glass window up into the purple clouds, the clouds she had seen so often when she was a toddler. Somehow the clouds were always purple here. Purple and wispy hanging low as if they had a secret to tell. The picket fence lay separating the yard from the forest. The forest held a few secrets of its own. At 6 Marissa remembers calling it the dungeon because it was always dark and creepy. She wished she could spend the rest of eternity right there on the window bench, unfortunately she there to say her last good bye. Marissa stepped off the window bench, and walked barefoot out into the snow. The last winter Marissa was here so was her grandfather, granddaddy Jason, she loved, correction, loves him. She walked through the door and over to the snow covered ever green. As she approached to shake the white off the tree and there was Jason leaning up against it. “Granddad!” Marissa yelled running through the snow and hugged her grandfather. “Come now child you shouldn’t be here.” He said in her syrupy sweet voice. Inside the cabin Annie, Marissa’s mother, heard her voice. “Marissa honey!” Annie yelled. She opened the door and looked out, her eyes still puffy and blood shot. The snow hadn’t been falling for hours but the ground was still covered. She scanned the ground for footprints, nothing. She glanced out at the tree her father loved so much, no one. She closed the door with a sigh and went back to bed.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
