My love,
You make me smile whenever I think of you
And I've caught myself smiling a lot lately
Staring off into space, lost in a thought of you
Remembering the sound of your voice
Remembering all you said
Reading the pages of your heart
And feeling so good inside
Because those words written there you've kept for me

I love that you have taken the time to see
My value and what makes me shine
What sets me apart from every other person
Somehow you've reached the core of me
Gently prodding past the outer surface
And through the ashes those who have hurt me had left behind
To that place inside that survived
My true spirit that never died
A spirit you've helped revive, by your love

I've opened my heart to you
And I'm glad to share the treasures there
