Poem Commentary

This poem was written for my mom some time ago, but can be applied to anyone with a loving, generous spirit.

YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL (c) Copyright 2002

You're beautiful...

Like a rose, your heart is tender
And like a rock, your spirit's strong
Look at how you love!

When others turn and walk away
You're the one who comes to stay
To lend a strong arm, a listening ear
Embracing sorrows, drying tears

Like a tree bearing fruit
You give to those in need
Within the hearts of the wounded
You plant love's seed...

And oh, how you shine!

I've never seen a brighter smile
So genuinely warm, like the kiss of a child
Your inner beauty radiates from your face
Where you go, like an angel, you light up the place

The light of your love reflects like a jewel
In my eyes, you'll aways be beautiful

Genuiness is a rare characteristic (in my experience), but your work here makes me feel like I've encountered some.

Beautifully put. This reminds me of.................. the face of GOD. I'm sure the same would probably be said for you.

Thanks, Chris.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
