I Danced with the Devil
I Danced with the Devil
I dance with the Devil, all night long.
Surprisingly, He danced well.
A place of dancing that was not in hell,
I was on earth somewhere I felt.
I though the dance went on a bit long,
I couldn’t get loose, he was too strong.
Dancing with the Devil is never safe,
I was carried off by force and with rage.
We were not in Hell,
I thought, that’s well.
It rained, good, and it cooled me off.
I would not burn like rotten wood.
The horror of it all I understood.
Lord of the dance, he wasn’t my choice.
Erotic seduction was so what I did fear.
His desire of conquest was clear.
Lust, temptations and soul stealing’s his goal.
I just had to fight it until I could lose his hold.
Dancing with the Devil scared me to the bone.
The night was wet and the dance was too long.
No one could help, Satan grip’s so strong.
The devil made sure that we were along.
Fire from the mouth and bad to the bone,
I trembled and shook as we danced alone.
To him unbeknown, I pulled out my cross,
I touch his face with that which I owned.
He let go of me as he started to moan,
Suddenly, I was no longer alone.
Archangels came forth and guide me home.
It seems that the cross has powers of its own.
Archangels and Jesus, came from the thorn.
Hallelujah, now I do attest.
I’ll take my stand against the devil’s new schemes.
Temptation be gone!
Savior, His Blood, His Word; I am finally home.
