RE: Adios Amigo'sLook, this site runs perfectly fine, and those people who are unhappy with OP should leave, Quietly, because their unhappiness is with themselves and not really with the actions, the direction, or essence of Original Poetry. If you are dissatisfied with where you are or with what you are doing then change the situation by moving-on, but do it Quitely and stop presenting yourselves as victims or martyrs or better than everyone else, and stop insulting or bashing those who are content. |

The OP stage is a wild play in full-swing, it’s comical, dramatic, fair, unfair, perfect and imperfect, and each moment here is another moment within life’s gamble, within life’s reality: things go wrong and right, and if you fall down then get up, without whining, and play the game without feeling sorry for yourself. All of life is the same: we win and loose. Life within OP is no different, and why should it be? Either you stay and play the game with dignity or you leave Quitely and without disrespecting those who desire to stay. Original Poetry has been and is doing a fantastic job by giving poets a competitive arena to present their work (as the entire poetry world [in reality] is competitive) and if this is not good enough for you then don’t let the mosquitoes bit your ass on your way out of the forest. Happy New Year! dah Amen, Dah, this site functions extremely well as a society of poets giving the poet a place to post and to be read on a grand scale. Love, peace and freedom, Olan. |

There is a postive side to some things in this, so I'll ask Papa=Pac-man, to scan my plans, and he'll listen to the voices that pm'd me, and it shall benefit all of you, so surf.....ya.... I hope you shall watch the videos..... Whenever one attempts to push for change you will always run into the pompous, ego driven selfishness that demands silence if they are not big enough to listen to your voice with an open mind then return the favor keep your ideas coming Wordslinger. |

RE: Adios Amigo'sThe videos annoy me as much as our favorite Cousin’s repeat forum postings. If this site is about writing original poetry then why post videos of someone else’s performance? Do your own video for pete’s sake and I’ll watch it but why repost a youtube video when we can go to youtube and watch it there? |

RE: Adios Amigo's Yes...(particularly "dah") the site is "just fine" Although you try to insult myself and my attempt to create a more succeptable environment. Instead of helping, you chose to "bash" anyone and their comments which do not meet your offensive agenda. |

I was asked to give my opinion....here it is....Createspace presence on OP is a great idea for someone who would like to see their poems printed in a book form. OP is simply wonderful as is... Papa and the rest are doing a great job. It has been my experience here just as in real life, you get back exactly what you give. If you want to be read then read more and if you want more comments, then give more comments....it’s reciprocal. I agree Aria the repeat postings are a nuisance |

I'LL BE HONEST, i HAVE READ YOUR "POETRY"(SORRY FOR THE CAPS), and some of it is pretty good, though most of it seems more essay than poetry. I however write quite good POETRY,( yes even humility on my behalf recognizes this). which is what this site purports to be for. I have nothing against essays, and find them in many cases to be quite stimulating, though to call them "poetry" is an abomination to the art. I have chosen to remain quiet and leave with my dignity intact, but comments like yours drive me to levels of anger to which I cannot remain silent. Sure you claim to have had your work "published", but anyone with a credit card and the ability to use Google, can have their work published. This in no way makes your efforts relevent in this field. My apologies to all for taking this negative turn, but I cannot stand idly by and watch someone of this ilk pretend to be "holier than thou" Good ole Edwin, he never misses an opportunity to tell everyone how talented he is. What's even funnier, he believes that by posting this ridiculous statement, he's keeping his dignity in tact! Where's Mel Brooks when you need him lol!!! |

If he comes back though Artie I don't think he necessarily could be written off entirely as in actually coming back becoming a contributing member and doing his thing regardless of what any nobody says. RE: Adios Amigo'sI wouldn't over think it Aria. This thread was rubbish from the start. |

RE: Adios Amigo'sThis thread, Aria, is a response to Edwin's comment and farewell. To mention only a few of the great poets on this site of 40,000 plus writers would be an injustice to the many. It has turned into what the site can provide for us and not what we can provide for the site, more great poems. To me it is a modern day Poet's Society where people can get up, read their poetry (virtually speaking), and then sit down and listen to the next. The owners see fit to offer a competition and weekly wins to publish in an Anthology, the sole right as owners. Some seem to think it is centered on a clique or certain people and feel they have been slighted in some way. |

RE: Adios Amigo'soh I did not see any poem in this thread to comment on,,,,,I know I am slow at getting around lately to commenting on friends poems but I am trying...so if there is some you would like for me to read and comment on that I missed please, please let me know......There is one here who I really admire and I really do like your poetry and I wish I could comment on it but alas I cannot and you are the only one that knows why.......I sure wish I knew if I did something to hurt your feelings cause if I did I surely did not intend to.......no matter about all that anyway I still value you as a friend and family member here at op and I hope you feel the same.....love asha Last edited by ApaqRasgirl 12-29-2010 at 12:24:49 AM |

RE: Adios Amigo'sFor those poet who have discovered a poet on the site they like and want to recommend them there is a thread, Buzzy Worthy set up for that purpose: |
When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
