RE: Adios Amigo'sWould just one entry a week be better? Some people pour their guts out with the excitement of a contest then leave before finding there is a real community here. k |

Uhm i dont believe you actually asked me a question... But yes there is a bit of a conflict with it. not everyone can look at one poem and say YES THIS IS OUTSTANDING! there will be people that think its just horrible. if such a button did exist? i dont know. it would have to be unavaiable to the actual writer of the peom of course... But i dont know. I dont know a lot about anything actually. |

These are not the days of Elvis Presley, where every thing is handed to us. Are you referring to the 3D world idea? Yah, its definitely a dandy. Maybe in the future. Its a bit beyond my skill set at the moment. I actually toyed with the idea for a 3D chat with avatars and the whole get up. Kind of like you see on Xbox Live and the Wii. Doing just a 3D chat w/o avatar customization might be doable in the future sometime. But we'll have to see. That's complex stuff. -Papa Paczki |

I have had it in the back of mind something similar, but I guess I never thought about how big the site has become and how little winners there are in comparison. He's absolutely right, its going to be a problem, and is in some ways. It gets people going. Perhaps its time for change. Or the end? The end doesn't have to mean no more contests of course. But maybe in this form. Thoughts? -Papa Paczki |

RE: Adios Amigo'slol, ya that will be great, no the one where we have 24/7 book publishing support, with the Gods of Books these days/...................And Poets have their own book store, on their pages... Last edited by WordSlinger 12-23-2010 at 12:47:02 PM |

RE: Adios Amigo'sthanks to all those who turned the opening negativity of this thread into a positve open discussion, here lies the power of postive thinking and brain storming. Nothing in this world is ever perfect and those who think that ideals can be reality are merely delusional. Compaining, bitching, whinning, does little if nothing but spread negativity like a wildfire, but positive open discussion and brain storming of ideas opens the doorway to the possibility of change through constructive, rather than destructive, thoughts. Here lies the true power of the poet, a true poet is much more than a writer that can rhyme with good meter, form, and flow. Poets of old were philosophers, men of ideas, visionaries, dreamers, and knew that through the power of the wirtten word and changing the perspectives of society, one could inspire real change to occur. They say poetry is a dead art, I believe this has occured because we have forgotten the awesome power of poetry and the great resonsibility that goes with it, as poets we have the ability to crack the doorway to endless possibilites. They say one man can't make a difference, but we are greater than the solice of one individual. Together as a commmunity of Poets we are create one voice that when united could be heard the world over, I think this is what made the old poets so great and legandary, and this is where we can ignite the flame and breath life back into the art of poetry. I think the POB decree says it well, we are the poets of blood, our pens bleed words, our hearts bleed emotions, and our souls bleed for a cause... Let us join together, united as one voice, and reclaim the essence of true poetry. Purity of the soul, journey well!!! with grace and humility ANGEL |

RE: Adios Amigo'sHey Papa, is there any way you can tell us how many votes the last 10 winners had? |

RE: RE: Adios Amigo's@Artie - 20 - 50, mostly in the mid 20s. I think it was Dah's that touched 50. |
A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
