Dog Days
a woman walks by
her housedress so bright like
tropical island flowers,
she carries a trash bag
over her shoulder
like Santa Claus in the August heat.
catching a glimpse i
wonder what she carries
in that bag, most would carry
trash in a bag like that, but no
not her.
it's more than that
(one would hope)
something important.
something that matters.
something worth carrying
in a trash bag
over your shoulder
like Santa Claus in the August heat.
her housedress so bright like
tropical island flowers,
she carries a trash bag
over her shoulder
like Santa Claus in the August heat.
catching a glimpse i
wonder what she carries
in that bag, most would carry
trash in a bag like that, but no
not her.
it's more than that
(one would hope)
something important.
something that matters.
something worth carrying
in a trash bag
over your shoulder
like Santa Claus in the August heat.
