at the mercy of memory
two eyes are not enough
to see the beauty of your soul
nor two hands enough
to drink in your flesh
I see you clearly
yet you are invisible
the moon becomes your face
and I see your spirit
emerge in the crocus
your smile makes the clouds
dance and I feel your kiss
upon the wind
the rhythm of your breath
intoxicates me; all the world
is alive because your footsteps
have walked upon my heart
you are both my light
and shadow, I am both
your sunshine and darkness
to see the beauty of your soul
nor two hands enough
to drink in your flesh
I see you clearly
yet you are invisible
the moon becomes your face
and I see your spirit
emerge in the crocus
your smile makes the clouds
dance and I feel your kiss
upon the wind
the rhythm of your breath
intoxicates me; all the world
is alive because your footsteps
have walked upon my heart
you are both my light
and shadow, I am both
your sunshine and darkness
