  • What a year...and it keeps getting better...

Poem Commentary

I wrote this at my mother's house in FL when I got to meet her, its mushy, sappy and full of love, but it's what I wanted her to know.....

Dear Mommy

Dear Mommy

Every day that passed by
My thoughts always turned to you
Through sunshine and darkness
I kept believing my dream would come true

We parted ways when I was young
Missing holidays, events and birthdays
But deep inside of my beating heart
I knew one day you'd be here to stay

One phone call made, many questions asked
"Are you my mom?" was said
And finally light shined all around
Angels danced around my head

For many years there was a hole
That only you could fill
Inside me now there's love and hope
And a joy my heart now spills

Thank you mom for giving me life
And making my dreams come true
The day I found you I became complete
No longer will I ever be blue

very emotional...I know very well about regret but you can't let it eat you up, live for today! If you haven't seen the movie UP you need to! It is wonderful and inspirational! wonderful!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
