BLACK ROSES (Part 6) THE MOVE
As I arise, my spirit's light;
This feeling's most peculiar.
In dark of night, with vampire sight,
He sleeps beside, my love, LaFluer!
A thousand nights I dreamed revenge;
He took my life, my mortal soul!
Vanished, intentions to avenge;
Companionship and love console.
Awake, my love, the night is here,
And New Orleans is strangely still.
I never thought again to fear,
No Mardi Gras, nor revelry trills.
I see my dear, you feel it too.
We gaze about in fascination;
There's no one left, save me and you
What could have caused such devastation?
A mighty storm has taken all;
Katrina was the witch's name!
Her waters breached the levy's wall
This city just is not the same.
Where now, my love, shall we two feast?
As all New Orleans decomposes;
Across the ocean, we'll fly east
Londoners...beware black roses!
