21st of October
Winter turned to spring
Spring turns to summer
Then summer turned to fall
A time I do remember
The 21st of October
My heat did beat still
For three days later when I saw you first
I held you dear and swore never to let you go
I taught you to talk and walk
I gave you your love of books and music
I raised you as my own
But when fall turned to winter
I lost all hope
For on that fateful time she took you away
And I lost you all the same
For now your five and don’t remember
The girl who raised and loved you always
The woman now who will always remember
Spring turns to summer
Then summer turned to fall
A time I do remember
The 21st of October
My heat did beat still
For three days later when I saw you first
I held you dear and swore never to let you go
I taught you to talk and walk
I gave you your love of books and music
I raised you as my own
But when fall turned to winter
I lost all hope
For on that fateful time she took you away
And I lost you all the same
For now your five and don’t remember
The girl who raised and loved you always
The woman now who will always remember
