    winter nights

As the wind blows across the empty plains,
all life screams to fall asleep.
The sky fights off the night.
The pinks and blues filter through the clouds
    Dark shodows all around,
A nip of cold in the air,
    Is that snow I feel?
    Could winter really be here?
