THE PIRATES CALL!

BELAY THAT SAIL,
...HOIST THE JIBBS ,
  THE MISSEN AND THE MAIN,
FOR WE ARE MAKING WAY THIS TIDE
THE QUEENS SHIP'S SAIL FROM SPAIN.
...

OUR MAST 'S RUN HIGH AND HULLS RUN FAST,
AND BURRY DEEP THE RAILS .
....FOR THIS SEA IS NOT FORGIVING.
AND RELENTS NO LUFF IN SAIL.
REMEMBER THIS,
  THE PAINTERS LINE ,
FOR THOSE POOR SOULS,
 WHO FALL BEHIND.
...

 MAKE WAY, MAKE WAY,
FOR THOSE I SAY,
IN THE BELLY OF THIS BEAST.
WHO STROKE ,AND HEAVE , AND HAUL AND PRAY
AND FEAR NOT THIS OCEANS SPRAY.
...

HALF MY CREW WAS SHANGHAIED.
A FEW WERE CAPTURED FAIR.
THOSE WHO STILL BELAY THE LINES
ARE THOSE WHO DID NOT CARE.
I SHALL DESCRIBE WHATS BY MY SIDE ,
SCABARD, MUSCKET AND PIN
A HOOK TO SET AND PULL THE HEART
FROM DEEP ,NO, DEEPEST IN.
...

FOR THIS IS NO FERRY OR QUEENS LOST SHIP,
WHICH HAS NO PORT, NORE ISLAND SLIP.
WE HUNT THIS OCEANS ROLLING WAVE
AND PRAY UPON YE VIAL NAIVE
SCALLYWAG AND BILDGERAT
NARDOWELL AND ALL
BEWARE AT SEA WHEN YOU SPY,
                                                     AND HEAR THE PIRATES CALL.

This is a nice piece. I regret that our paths have not crossed your path before now. I do love a good tale... Peace. JL

"Oh Captain my Captain" The only thing that would read better than this as it is..is for you to read it live!!! Very dramatic, exciting and danger laden lines that leap off the page! Wonderful!

Diction, theatricals or dynamics, tone, energy, development of theme pretty good, An adeptly crafted heroic---smooth unified narrative, Good! However there are issues that I have dealt with in your Private Message, My Friend, Let us see what I have written there. ...

I think your editing paid off. ;) I enjoyed the work before but this flows a bit more smoothly. Still an exciting adventure for a landlubber like myself!

Thanks Simone. It was fun . AARRG!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
