My Blood Runs In The Sand

    My darling Rosalita
    The time has just come
    My darling Rosalita
    The day is near done
Now my time is at hand
    And now I understand
    My Rosalita

    My darling Rosalita
    Where are you now?
    My darling Rosalita
If I could reach you somehow
The words I could not find
    When you were truly mine
    My Rosalita

    My darling Rosalita
    The bullet sits deep
    My darling Rosalita
    It’s next to my heart
My blood runs in the sand
    And now I understand
    My Rosalita

I love the words "my blood runs in the sand". The title caught my eye......*click*......A beautifully terrible poem about war. I truly felt this one. Great work. --Natalie.

Too little to late. I almost wish you could pick up the phone and call her. You write of war, I tried with crimson sands but I have not been near war so I don't know the reality, fear or any of the real emotions connected with battle. You men who defend these shores are owed a great debt from the rest of us.

the moment of clear-sightedness...often only attained when rectifying action is become impossible...very well written.

Jadienblu, I didn't get your full comment on this one. Some glich or something , but thank you for reading my stuff. It makes it worth writing.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
