My Eyes Have Seen Now.

My Eyes Have Seen Now.

My eyes have seen now
more than half,
of a hundred years.
Opened wide
and closed tight shut,
smiled and shed some tears.
Gazed upon the heavens
and deep beneath the sea,
from up on high,
through forest green.,
Now let me tell you
what I’ve seen..

All types I’ve seen
of man and beast,
at this Gods table
come to feast
upon what life has given us,
some love and hate
some fear and trust.

Attend this life
with kindness well.
This I’ve seen
and can now tell.

I am so glad I checked back to find this gem of a poem I missed before. I loved it, and wanted to go on reading! Very nicely done.

Wow. This was a terrific poem. It's so true when you're young you think you know it all, a little bit older you feel you can solve it all, older still it seems like you've seen and done it all but know that you haven't. this was wonderful to read a ten in my book.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
