The Northern Lights
I often sit in pensive mood,
With mind and nature in collude.
Gazing at the stars display,
Like a military foray.
When skies from north seemed colour bound,
It was a sight which did astound.
Curtain of green lay on black bed,
With tinges of purple edged with red.
And through green haze a starry glitter,
I catch the traces of Big Dipper.
And as it swirled across the skies,
It really caught my inner eye.
Reflected on the now calm lake,
Dancing on a small boats wake.
Its colours how they bend and smear,
The once calm waters danced with tears.
In Alaska you can catch its glamour,
And some times down in Alabama.
The northern lights with its mystique,
Is a wondrous sight for all to see.
With mind and nature in collude.
Gazing at the stars display,
Like a military foray.
When skies from north seemed colour bound,
It was a sight which did astound.
Curtain of green lay on black bed,
With tinges of purple edged with red.
And through green haze a starry glitter,
I catch the traces of Big Dipper.
And as it swirled across the skies,
It really caught my inner eye.
Reflected on the now calm lake,
Dancing on a small boats wake.
Its colours how they bend and smear,
The once calm waters danced with tears.
In Alaska you can catch its glamour,
And some times down in Alabama.
The northern lights with its mystique,
Is a wondrous sight for all to see.
