Daddy Was A Rambler
Daddy Was A Rambler
Daddy was a rambler and an engineer
Riding the the tracks both far and near
Walking on down that glory road
Like a rambling Charlie Chaplin with tales untold
Daddy was a rambler and an engineer
Not a son of a doctor or a rich lawyer
He love the ladies and he loved his wife
He loved me enough to give me life
Daddy was a rambler and an engineer
Living his life, his joys, his tears
I don't worry about daddy, he done nothing to forgive
because of his free rambling, today I live
Daddy was a rambler and an engineer
When a train rolls by, my heart holds him dear
I see him as light without any dark
I don't live my life with a question mark
Daddy was a rambler born of engineer's stock
We are all chips off of a loving God's block
I am free and so was he
Riding that freight through to glory
