Crushed Sands
However can one make amendsupon these lonely, sighing shores
Each deed, a grain of sand
crushed beneath our feet
Mindless, scurrying in a rush
careless in our quickening haste
Driven by our entrenched prides
we let the tide become our ride
Taking all in our vast stride
till nothing hides and all is spent
What then of cries of misery
when all ears are barren, fruitless tasted revision
Shall we then capture bleeding hearts
and give them a tarnished song
Of twilight's edge and cotton candy
quickening the living death
Make ready a route that clears caverns of darkness
hidden in the shrilling night
Let the weeping sky wash clean the footprints of yesterday
thawing open a route under vast stuck soul ice
Catch for us the mourning light
comforting the stolen sight
In nothingness comes somethingness
while we assist the birth of transition
Immerse us in the change of love
that wraps the world in calmness
Render to us the silent forms of nurture
to awaken the numb, busy multitudes
Craving peace and sanctuary
let gentle winds lead them swiftly
To a place of safety and rest
where wearied souls can regain spirit strength
Leadership has become a bounty
to mindless fools and gold
For we, walk on mistakes as a living path
heading nowhere into another equally as barren
Wisdom shields it's face from the heckling crowds
understanding left behind, forgotten
Who are we to think of destiny against the storms of sameness
losing heart as answers are fleeting in reply
To a unequaled time of stubbornness
for man shall have his day
Seeking his own storehouse
how are we to help them let go
Of what we ourselves cannot see
buried under the next moment
Fields are torn by lamenting voices of despair
rent upon the spoiled farmsteads of greed
Man's unrest leads nowhere
but early death
How then shall we awaken
joy to rise the tide that carries the dream
Away from crushed sands of time
towards that which moves into being
