    Poem Commentary

Inspired by Velvet Revolution in Armenia...

    Revolution

    We took different roads,

But we still run on the same blood

    Heavier is the load

Easier it will anchor us in flood

    Your face is open

While mine is under the hood

    But… Friends in revolution

    Are friends for good

    We met different hunger

But we still wonder who’s to blame

    If I was younger

My song would hardly be the same

    And all the words above

    Are less than you’ve understood

    But… Friends in revolution

    Are friends for good

What you see is a wicked land

Love is more than we could lend

Past was just a tragic crime

I bestow these magic rhymes -

    Crumpled like a plumber’s coat

    Revolution number… what?!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
