night watchers
An august moon a soft winter night
the wind blows cold as the owls take flight
in the darkness the sounds appear
of all the creatures moving near
the ants move along the ground with passion
but yet they move in an army type fashion
the birds fly in for an awesome feast
the owls look on and so do the beasts
a mouse looks out to see if its clear
but fails to see the snake that did appear
the snake moves away sleek and powered
as the hawk moves in and the snake is devoured
with spooky eyes of yellow, green and white
all but the predators bed down fr the night
always prowling and on the move
a deadly creature hunts, yet has nothing to prove
it moves like lightening and sounds like thunder
when a shot sounds out is always puts asunder
the life of a human is yet not like a song
the law of the jungle states to live or
die neither is wrong
the aim is set and the shot rings free
but the beast is missed at it hit a tree
from the shot came silence that all creatures knew
the animals were hunted, but now the human is too
without any more shots he pulled out a light
and walked through the jungle for it was his last night
the ground opened up with a monsterous roar
trees fell down but wait there's more
the snakes, fireants, and beetlebugs too
all knew what was about to happen
and knew just what to do
the man stepped into the clearing and began to eat
what he saw next caused his heart to skip a beat
the beetles and ants attacked what they could
but his face was well protected with a netted hood
the man jumped up and began to scream "beast!!"
before he realised they all circled from the east
the man again ran at the mouth
as he loaded his gun more circled from the south
the attackers were scavengers and knew what to do
to avoid all his shots, and he had fresh meat on him too
over the bushes and past all the trees
the man tried to run with cuts on his knees
some beasts stayed back to put out the fire
they watched as the wolves began to ravage and devour
the man tried to escape but had no chance of that
once over ran by the pack all that was left was his hat
the mans screams were heard but quickly silenced by power
his life had ended in less then an hour
to those be wary before u come here at night
unless you come hunting you will be alright
to those who say it'll not happen to me
take heed these words or like that man you will be
i tell you this now as a warning and wise tale
be careful of the beasts for they shall send you to hell
the wind blows cold as the owls take flight
in the darkness the sounds appear
