Man's Transformation Of Rain
As I sit in this my home
Comfortable and warm
Outside my door in the sky
Brews a winter storm
The open heavens gazing down
Can't believe their view
In a world so full of hearts
The righteous are but few
Mother Earth and Father Time
Stare across the land
Questioning the whys and hows
Of the earthly man
Reflecting on the yester years
And what has now become
They nod their heads in disbelief
Of what we men have done
They shed a tear and let it fall
To rest upon a cloud
The tear seeps through in tiny drips
To fall upon earth's crowd
But as it enters through the gates
Where mortals' hearts are vain
The coldness here untouched by gods
Transforms their sorrowed rain
The bitter cold of frozen hearts
Transcends above the ground
Consumes the tears which they have sent
And only snow falls down
Their message lost to all mankind
We've messed it up again
And now we hide inside our homes
As winters' storms begin
