Liquid Fire
The carnival city beside the toxic ocean
Where only the cold hearted survive
They build brightly painted stages
Filled with the dreams of those who have forgotten.
Forgotten how to love without guarding their hearts
Forgotten the way true warmth feels.
Candies fill their souls devouring the emptiness of broken hearts
They are no longer alone
Surrounded
By lights and music and other almost dead opium eyed
Inhabitants of an old city
That eats the youth from their faces
Elixirs made from chemicals made to kill
Free them
Leaving reality spirals down lost in a world of magic.
No longer sick, old, lonely, scarred, needing, wanting
Feeling only the ups and downs of chemical romance.
I run to the sea, falling into the icy glass
Even here the chemicals burn me
There is no where real left
I fall to my knees, choking sputtering coughing
Liquid fire in my throat.
Where only the cold hearted survive
They build brightly painted stages
Filled with the dreams of those who have forgotten.
Forgotten how to love without guarding their hearts
Forgotten the way true warmth feels.
Candies fill their souls devouring the emptiness of broken hearts
They are no longer alone
Surrounded
By lights and music and other almost dead opium eyed
Inhabitants of an old city
That eats the youth from their faces
Elixirs made from chemicals made to kill
Free them
Leaving reality spirals down lost in a world of magic.
No longer sick, old, lonely, scarred, needing, wanting
Feeling only the ups and downs of chemical romance.
I run to the sea, falling into the icy glass
Even here the chemicals burn me
There is no where real left
I fall to my knees, choking sputtering coughing
Liquid fire in my throat.
