Poem Commentary

This is a poem for hope for all who suffer from the Disease of Alcoholism. AA can help.

Let go, Let God

Let Go Let God

Let Go, Let God
One Day at a Time, Share what you feel.
From Heart to Mind
Take in the Love that flows from these rooms,
And soon you'll be soaring
No more to be Blue.

There once was a time,
I felt worthless inside.
That hole in my gut,
I never could hide.
So I chose to use, that John Barley Corn
To fill up the voids of my Body and Mind.

But then something occurred.
The Magic was gone.
The Party was over, and life was no fun.
I knew I was changing.
Life had gone wrong.
So I thought of a friend, and picked up the phone.

You opened your Arms, so freely to me.
You said that you loved me and soon I'd be free.
You had the secret, to fill up that hole.
You'd love me to health,
And join with my soul.

Let go, Let God
One Day at a Time.
Share what you feel,
From Heart to Mind.
Take in the Love that flows from these rooms
And soon you'll be soaring
No More to be Blue.

Thank you for the comment! I didn't think anyone even had read any of my poems/songs yet! How did you see it anyway?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
