    Angel Pins

    I wore three angel pins
One has a guitar, and two look like twins.
All day they made me think of we three
    Donna, Diane, and me.

Not all of us believe in Angels
But I believe and that's what counts
To think of three sisters, when young and now old
How did we drift apart, at least that's what I've been told.

There was a time we all were close
That time is gone, and I miss it the most.
When did it change? How did it end?
Is there a slight chance we can still be friends again?

I choose to believe the past is all gone
What's done is done, and should be left alone
I choose to believe the future is here
Melded with the present, a time for great cheer

I proudly wear those three angel pins
One with the guitar and two who look like twins
All day I think of just we three
    Donna, Diane, and me.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
