Keep The Love

  • Thinking about writing something new cause it's been a while.

Keep The Love

It all started
When I looked into your eyes
I saw something that looked so good
How could I know it was a lie

You said it was love
And that it was for me
But things aren't always what they seem
It's just not what I wanted it to be

So go ahead and go love
You have my blessing
And you can keep the love love
I won't take back anything

Keep the love I gave to you
You know I'll have to start new
New love for a new love
I can't give any more to you

Wow, this is heart wrenching! Lost love, I know all about it!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
