    He Came Knowing

He came knowing what was in store for Him
He came to save the world from sin

    A perfect sacrifice was required
To save mankind from hell fire

In Mary He grew like you and me
A woman so innocent and guilty

In free will he came down
He who wore the holy crown

He came knowing He'd go to hell
Three days He'd die and live to tell

The path He took was preordained
In Heaven over all He will reign

The world will know we must cry out
Jesus died for us we mustn't doubt

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
