Depression
It creeps up on youA silent monster
Taking away the last breath of happiness
you've ever had.
It taps you on the shoulder
Waiting for you to turn around
to show your vulnerable
to let your guard down
Before it strikes.
First it attacks your brain
putting thoughts into your head
telling you you're worthless
Ugly
Stupid
Anything but perfect.
It plants thoughts into your mind
telling you to leave friends
and ignore family.
It crumbles up what love you had
leaving an empty hole where love once was
and whispers in your ear
every second of every day
"Just end it all."
It makes you fight
until you're too tired, and accept defeat.
Once you have died inside
it attacks your body
compelling your hand to slit your wrist
making you starve yourself
It taunts you as you hurt yourself more and more
Laughing as your run after the last shred of happiness
you have left.
Pushes the tears
to leave your eyes
Makes you not care at all
until you crack.
The psychological term for it
is "Depression".
