A TITLE WITHOUT A FACE
I NEVER KNEW YOUTHOUGH I HEARD OF YOU FROM TIME TO TIME
I HEARD YOU WERE A HANDFULL
WHEN YOU WERE IN YOUR PRIME.
I HEARD YOU WERE A MUSICIAN
A SAX PLAYER, I THOUGHT THEY SAID
MAYBE NOT A ROCK STAR
BUT AT LEAST IT KEPT YOU FED.
I HEARD YOU WERE A BOXER
HOW GOOD THEY DIDN'T SAY
I HEARD YOU BEAT MY MOTHER
ALMOST EVERY DAY.
I HEAR YOU HAVE OTHER KIDS
HOW MANY I DO NOT KNOW
I WONDER DID YOU KNOW THEM
AND DID YOU WATCH THEM GROW?
BLACK HAIR AND GREEN EYES
IS WHAT I HAVE FROM YOU
I READ THAT ON MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE
THATS HOW I KNOW IT'S TRUE.
I NEVER HAD ANY ONE
TO TRY TO TAKE YOUR PLACE
I NEVER HAD A FATHER
JUST A TITLE WITHOUT A FACE.
