A MOTHER HAS TO LEARN BY JOANNA SMITHSON
I HAVE TO SAY GOODBUYAND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY
WHEN I WAS THE ONE TO HOLD YOU
WHEN EVER YOU HAD TO CRY.
WE HAVE TO PART WAYS
AND ALTHOUGH I KNEW IT WAS COMING
I DIDN'T 'IMAGINE THE PAIN I WOULD FEEL
IT SEEMS TO BE QUITE NUMBING.
I HAVE TO SAY FAIRWELL
AND LET YOU GO ON YOUR WAY
BUT WHEN DEEP INSIDE
I'M BEGGING YOU TO STAY.
BEING A MOTHER
IS THE HAPPIEST FEELING TO KNOW
BUT THE HARDEST THING I'LL EVER DO
IS TO LOOK AT YOU AND THEN LET GO.
PEOPLE SAY IT'S NORMAL
THAT ALL BIRDS LEAVE THE NEST
BUT THE PAIN I FEEL IS HARD TO EXPLAIN
IT'S LIKE ALL OTHER PAIN IS SECOND BEST.
SO AS I PRAY FOR YOUR SAFTY BABY
I ALSO PRAY FOR YOUR QUICK RETURN
I ALSO PRAY YOU DO A BETTER JOB THEN I
WHEN YOU INDURE THE LESSONS A MOTHER HAS TO LEARN.
