Hawk Came To Visit
As I look out my window, into the courtyardI see to my amazment, a huge brown bird
It's perched on a rooftop looking at a tree
Suddenly it flies and swoops down to a bush
I quickly grab my camera and run outside
To see that it has moved once again
This time I see that it has moved into a pine
I move in closer for a good shot
Then I see why it flew to the tree, a squirrel
A squirrel was hiding, playing cat and mouse
The hawk trying to trick it, jumping branch to branch
It must have known I was there
Because it suddenly started flying tree to tree
Oh I got a few good shots with my trusty camera
But every time I drew close, it would fly away
It tried one last time for the squirrel
Then in frustration, it flew off around a building
I followed in pursuit, to get two more shots
It then flew off towards some woods
I followed again and saw him in a tree
Then again as I drew close it flew off
This time across the Raritan River
I could have followed, if I felt like swimming
But alas I did not and settled for my shots
