    You Don't Judge Stars

I broke a piece of coal
n' empty, fed it to my soul.
    The red in my chest,
I traded, to be life's best.
    Rules and deadlines, don't exist,
just death n' heaven on my list.

Born as fire, reared to be Sun,
Fathered by Jove, yet not roman.
    I spurned the given path,
    never killed the calf.
Human but being from the sky,
having not two but six to fly,
I soar to peaks n' scenes dreamed,
the earth was too small it seemed.

There will be no waving of hands,
    No saying farewell.
    Time will not allow such,
    She know us too well.
There is only time to live,
    to laugh, to fight.
    Time is death's friend,
    always in sight.

    With all this in mind,
    I draw my last.
    Only light greets me,
    as future meets past.
    My traded, hungry heart,
    finally filled with blind hope.
    I leave behind rainy days
    n' a world without a rope.

This is a subject that hits close to home for me because I'm a star and people judge me all the time. But I'll let you in on a secret... real stars don't care. Good work ;)

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
