Words on a page
Words on a page, thats really all they are, words that unless spoken, won't get you very far.
Words that bring smiles, and words that can bring tears,
words that terrify you, or wash away your fears.
They're really not something, that you can pursue,
words aren't something for a living you can do.
They're simply an extension, an idea can't be caught,
always forever worthless, no penny for your thought.
Verses do however, give those words a soul,
that deep inside your heart and mind can really take a toll.
Verses are the deepest and truest set of words,
they fly into your head like a flock of chirping birds.
Poems are the embody, the verses come to life,
with feelings that can cradle or cut you like a knife.
Poems are a song, a lyric melody,
same words but different meanings, from whichever way you see.
Words on a page, thats really all they are,
words that now spoken, can take you very far.
Words that bring smiles, and words that can bring tears,
words that terrify you, or wash away your fears.
They really aren't something, that you can pursue,
words are simply something, thats always follow you.
They're more than an extension, an idea that can be bought,
yet still a priceless artifact, worth more than that penny thought.
