Where to Begin
You push me away and then come back again,
Wondering where we can someday begin.
The end is the only place we ever see.
In the depths of your eyes all I see is me.
Graceful arms once spread out wide,
Now hang closely tucked to my side.
My face once turned up to the warmth of the sun,
Now hangs melted with dreams left undone.
A glowing smile always lifted to the sky,
Has now grown cold, empty, and dry.
I see you yearning for something more,
As you once again walk out that silent door.
You’ll be back in a couple of meaningless days,
With promises of forever changing your ways.
With mocking words you’ll promise a life,
That will lead down a road of hidden strife.
You’ll push me away and deliver the end,
With the smile of angel and voice of a friend.
