It's That Time
Time is ticking by faster now and I still see your face every hour. The time we had seems long ago but memories tend to fade as we grow.
The tests we've been given and have not passed.
The things we've promised that did not last.
The fun we've had that always ends.
The love only known between best friends.
It's time to move on and find my place.
To pack up those feelings in the minds suit case.
Give them a shove and let them go.
Who needs those vissions that no longer make me glow.
The mind and heart are a powerful thing.
They can make you cry or make you sing.
I know now that you'll never stay,
and that what you offer is just for today.
It's time to see what it is real,
and stop holding on to what I feel.
Soon you'll find someone that you actually love,
and I will be nothing but a worn out glove.
Someone who held your hand through thick and thin
and always managed to hold up your chin.
You'll let me go with no warmth or regrets
because you consider my two greatest blessings pests.
Those seeds of innocence are your worst fears,
and your fears have caused too many tears.
I wouldn't change either one of them.
They are both flawless and rarer than any gem.
It's time to prevent my greatest heart break
and leave the past with so much now at stake.
Time is moving much too fast.
It's time to let go of what will never last.
