Goodbye
Creeping up the window pains of a left over thought
A glimmer of hope reaches for something that can not be caught
Thorns prick the skin straining to be free
Scratching at the window pains wishing it wasn’t me
The branches glide along the rails that keep the soul at bay
Tickling the entrance to a memory trying to break away
Pushing and pulling as the wind scrapes the glass
Shattering the breath that tastes like poisoned gas
A piece of faith glides down the walls
Licking at the wounds from those thorny claws
Dripping faster as the rain cleans these eyes
Kissing my broken heart forever torn with goodbyes.
