What is life
What is life for me?
For a child who lives
In a third rate city
It is sad? Is it happy?
For that I don’t know
All I know is
“I have a heart,
that can be happy
that can be sad”
Who said that happiness
Can only be found in all the luxuries
Or fame or any major successes?
I am nothing
I am nobody
I am just a nameless little kid
In a crowd of statues
Walking and passing beside me
As I was sleeping here
Beside this fast food corner
But inside my dream
I am smiling
Smiling of dreaming
Of tasting the burger
Inside this corner
And I felt nothing but joy
Who said that happiness
Is just in luxuries?
The cold floor I am sleeping
Is this a form of luxury?
But why I felt gratified
Just by the idea of sleeping
And breathing
Just by thinking that all man
Is happy when they’re sleeping
I don’t have awards
Or honors, I don’t go to school
Or win contest in sports or essay
But why I felt happy
Though all I have
Is a grin from mom
When I give her some of my alms?
Is this only the algorithm of bliss?
When happiness=success (fame)+luxuries?
For that I don’t know
To you I might be
Just a nameless, faceless
Little kid
Lying here as you pass by
But all I can say
Is that, I can be happy
I can be sad
Because like you
I too have a heart
