Poem Commentary

dance lessons are a disaster waiting to happen. I want to be like Neo. --Headset, and---zap! I am a whirling amazing dervish with By-The-Book Steps! Yes, Shallene!

walt-zuh

one-two-three---four
close enough
she figures

her count
is
off
but his hand
is on
her supple waist

and that counts
for a lot
she thinks

one-two---three-four
oh well
who needs
ten toes

toes are overrated anyway
he grimaces

step two three and
and
four
and
four?

Thank you so much.

Lovely to meet you...

where's the door?

No kidding, now you have me thinking of marketing ladies dancing shoes with steel toes built in... hmmm

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
