  • Lost Love

    Us.

Breathe in sharp I’ll kiss you soft
In your eyes I know I’m lost.
    Bodies curving by design,
Explore your wonders that you hide and
Lips are dancing to their beat
You keep me warm through body heat and
    Tender fingers pull me close,
The “yes” within me showing most but
Through my tears my mind says “no-
Someday love, he’ll let you go.
He’ll take with him what you’ll provide,
You’ll burrow deeper as you hide.
Nothing is forever; your happiness won’t last,
You know the higher that you fly the further down you’ll crash.”
We’ll give and we’ll take in this see-sawing game,
Each moment is captured in personal fame.
Clenching my stomach I’ll now brave this storm,
The gleams in my eyes match my locket well worn.
‘Cause with this word “love” is a baggage we’ll find
Forever it’s yours with no peace of mind.
With the decisions made and our lessons learned,
This gnawing feeling was something we earned.
Remember us wisely, our story we’ll tell
Of our heartbeats a cadence, our monster from Hell.
Memories come flooding; I try to hold them in,
But with our sparring word’s we’ll find that neither will win.
So “Step right up,” you’re last in line,
What we do is on our time.
Press against me— don’t let go.
Our dance has not just been for show.
The song slows down. We thank the band.
We cross the street. You hold my hand.
I’ll go left when you go right,
    Walk into the sunset,
    You won’t glance behind.

No one is ever truly forgotten, As others shape you because of what they do, You shape others even though it was just one dance. Well written.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
