To rest
A sad simple smile shadows your lovely face
a resignation to pain that time cannot erase
You've grown cold just to survive
Live and let die, that's the bottom line
Ya got it rough boy, laying' low
Got it tough boy, nowhere to go
Too bad boy.
You'll grow up hard, and you'll grow up mean young man
you'll grow up cold, violent child of the night
Sad and alone, cold as the waters under a palet of ice
And where am I?
There...always out there
where there is no light
choking on the bullet that I've had to bite
I birthed you, I schooled you,
like so many others
searching for safeness
your sisters and brothers
Just a little quiet; A minute to catch your breath.
Then, run into my arms; The sweet rest of death.
a resignation to pain that time cannot erase
You've grown cold just to survive
Live and let die, that's the bottom line
Ya got it rough boy, laying' low
Got it tough boy, nowhere to go
Too bad boy.
You'll grow up hard, and you'll grow up mean young man
you'll grow up cold, violent child of the night
Sad and alone, cold as the waters under a palet of ice
And where am I?
There...always out there
where there is no light
choking on the bullet that I've had to bite
I birthed you, I schooled you,
like so many others
searching for safeness
your sisters and brothers
Just a little quiet; A minute to catch your breath.
Then, run into my arms; The sweet rest of death.
