    The Truth

    You know how they say
    'the truth shall set you free'
    Well, it isn't true
    The truth sucks!

    The truth hurts more than any lie
    worse than being cheated on
    or even being played
    the truth locks you in a cage

    Keeping you its unwilling prisoner
    forcing you to take
    a good hard look in the mirror
    and try like hell to figure out
    just what YOU did wrong

    The truth is a relentless stalker
    a noose around my neck
    The truth is a bottomless pit of tears
    and I am choking on it

    Yep as chaos stated, intense. Very. Sometimes it seems the truth doesn't let us live by our own rules. Almost forcing us to submit to something we don't want to submit to. Maybe the hardest thing to love is truth. Going between loving it and hating it. A rotation I know all too well. Enjoyed the perspective of this piece.

    You certainly present a unique point of view. I guess a lot would depend on the particulars of the truth you're talking about. not to mention the fact that being in a bad situation doesn't mean you have to live there. Intense!
