Poem Commentary

Special poem for Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block. I miss his sweet nectar tweets on twitter, and now I get to return the favor. I hope that he and everyone else that reads this finds delight in this fountain of nectar!

Sweet Nectar

I craved something. An odd flavor that had never graced my tongue before. Not chocolate nor sugar nor the most fragrant wine could smother the fire burning inside. I questioned what this mysterious desire could be. I paid no attention to my surroundings. I ran into a special friend. Suddenly the smoldering inside grew to an out of control inferno. Could this friend hold the secret that I need to stop the craving? Deep in his blue eyes, the secret was hiding, but I believed I could catch that spark. His touch sent electricity through my entire body. I could not control myself with his fingers on my skin. Sweet nectar was released between us; a magical moment that left me breathless... My craving ceased when he let me go. His sweet nectar was what I had craved.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
