Silent Companion
Hazel eyes pierce the gloom.Rhythms thrum through the Night,
Like erratic heartbeats.
Fog drifts silently
Among the tombstones
Sitting quietly atop a tomb
I listen and wait
Hazel eyes watch me from the shadows.
I do not turn or move
Just silently wait
The moon rises slowly
Above the tree tops
The Night passes slowly
Hazel eyes watching my every move
The dawn is approaching
I move off the tomb
I wander slowly
Through the Graveyard
He follows close behind
I pause near the edge
Tonight I will return again
To sit and wait
Eventually he will come close
And I will see his face
After so much time
Will he remember me.
