COLD
Darkness surrounds meAs I jam myself under the footbridge
I will try to sleep
But already am so cold
wedged in behind the weeds
Maybe I will be safe tonight
The cold seeps into my bones
My body shivers
voices over head has me
Holding y breath
They pass on
unaware I am here
The trembling is getting worse
I tug my jacket closer
The reaper roams tonight
His touch is creeping closer
Survival is all that matters
What is lost quickly forgotten
Danger surrounds every breath
Death just beyond sight
He will take his share tonight
More tomorrow
This life filled with danger
And humiliation
