Place of Slumber
my blood shivers, quivers
along these veins
under my skin, it pains
what should've been.
a thousand halls i wander
defeated, and into slumber
i retire, the esquire
took my face.
push aside the lid,
my body dormant, the ages i
hid, the beast is beckoned
and the cage is rotted,
those eyes reflected the ominent
image,
my legacy is my heritage,
to know i am the only one,
tired daily, shakingly i crawl back in,
pulling the lid over the sarcophigus.
along these veins
under my skin, it pains
what should've been.
a thousand halls i wander
defeated, and into slumber
i retire, the esquire
took my face.
push aside the lid,
my body dormant, the ages i
hid, the beast is beckoned
and the cage is rotted,
those eyes reflected the ominent
image,
my legacy is my heritage,
to know i am the only one,
tired daily, shakingly i crawl back in,
pulling the lid over the sarcophigus.
