    On the river

     On the river where I live hoping to find a bridge to the other side water rushing fast rising high I can’t escape not even in the sky as you see the water is gathering around me I am going to drown if I don’t find a higher place off of this ground I looked for a tree they been washed away looking for a higher place I could hide away from this mind of fear it keeps clouding my mind my dear please help me now before the water rises up and takes me down I looked for a higher place but can’t be found I don’t want to drown I found the bridge now I’m safe from that water that splashed me in my face the grass is greener on the other side so that’s what I have been told is it a lie I hope to find that peaceful place yes in the sky where the stars twinkle in my eye as I enter in the star begin to dance and grin as I enter in.
