I CALLED HER
I called her name in my sleep
I felt her heart beat
through her breath
I gaze at her throughout the night
as she cuddled her blankets so tight
only if I knew
what was in her dream
I could only imagine
what it might be
through all of our conversations
I think I know
just what it is
her and I together feeling the ocean breeze
as the wind blew she began to freeze
we ran to a shed arm and arm as I led
I opened the door let her in
started a fire as we kept warm
hold each other till the early morn.
I ask you ok with a smile and a relief
she said thank you dear
for being so kind
you’re the kind of man
a women needs
all the time.
